Why undergo tooth extraction?

Tooth Extractions basically refers to the extraction of teeth. There are various reasons why one will undergo tooth extractions, including:

  • Gum diseases and dental cavities
  • Injury on the tooth or surrounding bones
  • Dental infections
  • Wisdom teeth problems
  • Dental braces preparation

Tooth extractions does involve some pain and blood, but do not worry as you will be given local anesthesia. The process will numb your mouth so that you do not experience any discomfort during the process. The dentist might also ask you for a dental X-ray in case they want to about the overall conditions of your teeth. In case the teeth in concealed beneath the gum tissues, then the doctor might need to cut off the gum and remove the obstructions so that the tooth can be extracted.
Once the extraction process is over, you might be given gauze tape so as to reduce the bleeding. This will also accelerate the clotting process along with the absorption of blood.
